Has anyone else out there been keeping up with this series? I didn't know what to expect of it, so I downloaded the first episode, and WOW! What a cool show! I got back on that FTP and queued the rest of what they had of it.
I can't wait for my comp to work again so I can watch more. ^_^

OK basic plotline...
There's a girl who is 12 years old, and dreams to become a singer. 2 years ago, while she was at a hospital, she met a boy named Eichi, who was 16 at the time. She had a crush on Eichi, and Eichi said he loved her as well. They were best friends, and EIchi dreamed of being an astronomer. However, suddenly one day he had to leave for America. The two of them made a promise that the next time they meet, they will be closer to their dreams.
Now, the reason she was in the hospital was because she has cancer. A tumor in her throat, which pretty much makes it impossible for her to sing with a very loud voice for too long without hurting herself. Also, she refuses to have surgery because she might loser her voice from it.
It seems that her home life is a little strange. She lives with her grandma, who is very strict, and hates singing for reasons yet unrevealed. The housekeeper woman is kind though, and kind of funny. And then there's her Doctor, a young practicioner who makes house calls and is kind of her father figure since both her parents are appearently dead. (Sorry I'm not remembering names, even the main character's name...
)
Anyway, on eday she is in her room when suddenly the wall begins to glow and a strange guy looking to be in his late teens steps through the wall. (We are talking BISHONEN a la Fushigi Yuugi here Not so much the fair bishonen type.. more of the kind of tough looking kind like Tasuki.. anyway...). He is dressed in strange clothing and has a very cat-like appearance. Following him is a woman who is also dressed strangely and looks like a rabbit. (So basically a cat boy and a bunny girl)
THey start arguing with each other, not noticing that the girl is FREAKING OUT. When they do finally notice, they are appearently shocked that she can see them. And so, in a very strange up-front about it manner, the cat boy explains that he is "Shinigami" (Death). The girl is also a "shinigami" it seems. They came to check up on the main character due to the fact that she is scheduled to die in exactly one year.
Now, a normal person, upon finding out they are gonna die in a year, would probably freak out. However, tihs girl instead becomes determined to go out and become a singer and make her long lost Eichi notice her, even from America.
Of course, auditioning is impossible for a 12 year old, since you have to be 16. However, it seems that the Shinigami boy has a soft spot for the girl, and makes a deal with her. He says he will turn her into a 16 year old girl so she can audition. If she succeeds, she can chase her dream. If she fails, she has to go home and stay put for the rest of her remaining year, ot pursuing her dream.
Well, she agrees. Shinigami makes her drink a drop of his blood, and then he uses magic to change her. She then goes to audition.
Long story short, after some problems, she makes the cut and is chosen as Japan's next pop star. (While changed, she does not have the tumor and can sing without pain)
The show so far is about how she manages to juggle being a new pop star, being a sick girl, and not having anyone discover the truth. (i.e. her manager discovering she is 12, her grandma discovering that she did any of this, her doctor discovering that she is singing against his orders (she told him she was modeling) )
Anyway.. frickin awesome show.

Oh yeah.. also.. The girl shinigami loves the guy shinigami, and the guy shinigami appearently has fallen for the human girl, the human girl only has eyes for EIchi... and it;'s just a messed up love... polygon... thing.... With comedy ensuing from it ;P
