Sailor Moon DVD information

OK I asked this under a previous question, but because it was so far back in the column I have to ask again if I can hope to get an answer.

Will the new (uncut) Sailor Moon DVD's have both Sub and Dub? If not will they ever make a DVD with both a Sub and a Dub (even if it takes years)? Also, which Sailor Moon DVD's will have or do have Sub and Dub?

I know the dub may suck, but I like having both for completion, is it too much to ask for?

I replird to this question in said previous thread, but here's a copy/paste of the answer.


I felt the voice acting in both DiC and Cloverway versions were autrocious.

Also, the release date has been pushed back, seeing as they are not out yet.

Also, these new seasons 1 and 2 box sets are going to be the Japanese version with subtitles only, no dub. Here's why...

You see, back when seasons 1 and 2 were dubbed by DiC, they made their cuts for TV before dubbing.... Seeing as they cut before dubbing, it would be impossibly to overlay the dub audio on top of the original version's video.. so, sad to say for those of you who want the dub, you'll have to buy the DiC DVD's that have been coming out (Also from ADV) seperately from the uncut version box sets.

As for the movies, season3, and season 4, Pioneer has been releasing these in an uncut format, subbed and dubbed, ever since they started airing season 3 on Cartoon Network. (Almost 2 years ago now, I guess...) So yeah, when you buy any Sailor Moon S or Sailor Moon SuperS on DVD, it will be uncut and bilingual. The same goes with all 3 movies, which now even come in a box set.

Season 5 is not yet being brought over to America, as a recent article on AnimeNation suggests. Toei, the original creator of Sailor Moon, and Cartoon Network officials, both feel that season 5 (Sailor Stars) is too violent, dark, and mature for the North American target audience.

Then again, season 1 was kind of dark, and ADV is releasing that. So yeah.... Somebody is bound to release season 5 sooner or later. Whether it'll be on Cartoon Network is up in the air though... Then again, if they put Tenchi and Outlaw Star on prime time TV, they can manage to put Sailor Stars on. (Despite the fact that she's nakes for the latter half of the last episode... eh *shrugs*)

Anyways, have you seen the new Tenchi Muyo OVA's ???
Are you going to sub them? Are they good (how can they not be)?

Do you have any clips of what the bathing suits that Toonami made look like, I've never seen them (I own the DVD's and never saw any OAV episodes other than Zero Ryoko)

Also I didn't realize Clay was carrying a galaxy in the OVA (even though I've seen the OVA 4 times) when exactly does he carry the galaxy?

heh, his ship is what is carrying the galaxy. at the end of episode 10, there is a shot of his ship towing a galaxy to Lady Tokimi.

As for the new OVA's, they aren't out yet.

As for subbing, I am now part of a fansub group called Anime-Works. We're subbing Tenchi GXP the rest of the way. Right now we're working on eps 2 and 3, we hope to release a couple episodes a week til the show is done being subbed.

When the new OVAs come out, you can bet that we will probably sub them ^_^

Also, as for the bathing suits on toonami, I am not sure if I have any of my old toonami tapes lying around, and even if I do, I am not sure if episode 4 is on them. Basically, Ryoko was given a blue bikini, and Ayeka was given a one piece purple suit.
