Sony Vegas Issue. Desperately needs help!

Post by Dizmo » Sat Jul 11, 2009 2:48 pm

I'm using MPG video file and I've been editing my videos for a long time and this is the first time this has happened.

Basically, I put all of my multiple clips into vegas 8.0B and then when I try to render, it says
An error has occured while creating a media file etc etc.

An invalid argument was specified.
Sometimes, vegas also pops up a few other things like the playback device is not working and sometimes it just shuts down.

Now also when I try to load a save file, it'll sometimes not remember where I put my files and ask me to specify where it is again....

Editing and creating something is great, but getting into these little problems is extremely frustrating.

I also get that quoted error when I add in another file into the bunch of files I already have. Like it is able to render everything i have now okay....but when I add another video file in there, I get an error and I can't render it.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled it as well, still no good. I might even considering a full system restore and see if that helps?

Help! I really need it BIG TIME.

Oh yeah, the error that I get right before my vegas shuts down is
An error has occured during the current operation.

An exception has occured.

Encode your footage with a lossless video codec. I suggest lagarith on YV12 mode.

But how come before when I use the same file format, it doesn't happen and this one it does?

The only difference I think is that this one has more footage that I gotta piece together...

What's so bad about mpg?
