Sound Editing in Vegas

Post by BwanaKuu » Sun Jan 11, 2009 10:27 pm

I want to make a part of a song become quieter smoothly within the song. I've tried clipping the part I want quieter and placing it in a different track, but that leads to an abrupt quietness. It needs to be a smooth transition down and a smooth transition back to normal volume. I've tried having the song fade but that makes it completely quiet, is there anyway to make it so that it doesn't fade out completely but just to the level of the quiet part?

use envelopes.

go to insert, go down to audio and then click volume

there should be line going across the audio and u can adjust the volume by adding points. kinda like keyframing
