Best way to lip synch in Vegas?

Post by Chaobunny12 » Sat Dec 06, 2008 11:39 am

Lip synching is an effect I'm fairly new to. The only ways I've really tried it so far is by slowing down and speeding up portions of clips and masking mouth movements from different parts of the scene over the image. Still, it's pretty difficult to do, especially if the scene has very fast mouth movements or the face is moving. Since I plan for my next video to have a great deal of lip synch in it, I'm wondering what the most efficient way to do this is.

If the character and background are standing still, just make an image for each of the mouth movements and then put them in so they match.

For moving clips, you will be better off making an image file of just the mouth and then overlaying them on the clip. Changing the placement of the mouth each frame.

I'm planning on doing a tutorial discussing each of these techniques but I don't know when it will be done.
