I couldn't work with Vegas without the trimmer. The trimmer is your friend.

You can also split clips by pressing s where the marker is in the timeline.

Do you mean trim video length or cropping the image? Because if you mean cropping the edges of the video there's event pan/crop.

I've tried using vegas but absolutely hated the trimmer and such. I like final cut and ulead's way of marking in and out and dragging and dropping better.

How do people do things without the trimmer?

Now I feel like I must be doing it all wrong XD But the trimmer's worked for me so far. o_O

This is what makes the most sense to me:

mark in and mark out. Then drag the image to the timeline.

What is this trimmer anyway? /is confused.
