Nooby Sony Vegas question ><
Okay, so recently, as a gift from a friend, I received Sony Vegas 8.0 to install onto my laptop. I want to import all of my previous amvs onto Sony, so I went my old computer, saved them all on a floppy, and opened them in the Windows Movie Maker that comes with the laptop. Now, when I try to open them in Vegas to finish work on them, they open as one movie in already formed clips. Like, the movie timeline is already made, and I can't separate it. A little help?

are you trying to open a WMM project file in Vegas? or are you trying to open a file you exported from WMM in Vegas?
if its the former, it shouldn't work at all, and if its the latter its because the new file exported from WMM is one solid video chunk now.

yea if you have exported a file from WMM it will definitely open in Vegas as a solid chunk, and theres no way to split the clips unless you want to go through it frame by frame and split them yourself.
Also, there is no "create clips" option in Sony Vegas like there is in WMM...
However you CAN open files in the trimmer or split them on the time line by pressing the "S" key on your keyboard (and the file will split where ever the line is)
Truthfully there is no real compatibility between WMM and Vegas.
IMHO your best bet is to start your video over and use the file you exported from WMM as a guideline.

yea there is no auto-clipping in Vegas, you will have to either make your own clips using Vdub or clip in the trimmer
