wierd vegas video export

Post by prYzm » Sun Oct 07, 2007 2:50 am

ok this is a new one for me. trying to render my completed amv (hurrah hurrah), and some of the scenes arnt rendering. ive narrowed down what it is quite a bit but cant figure out how to fix it. heres the rendering details

so u can see i have it all setup properly. now my problem is this, once i render it, certain scenes are unviewable. for example my like 5seocnd mark - my 7 second mark consists of 6 clips all taken from a period in one episode of my anime that is withing 45 seconds of each other. im playing a part of the anime but cut down so its all under same codec, same settings everything is identical. now only the last 2 of these clips are actually shown in my amv, the rest it just plays a black screen when i render. its the same throughout the whole amv, certain scenes, seemingly at random are just blanked out and i get black screens.

i cant decipher any pattern or reason why scenes are blanked out. its not certain media effects cause some of them have had nothing done to them. its not certain episodes cause as i said, i took 6 clips all from 1 segment of an episode some work some dont. however when i rendered it a second time as an 'uncompressed' instead of a huffYUV i get the same problem, with all the exact same scenes.

even tried rendering as a wmv to see if that made a diff but still same problem same scenes. anyone know what the problem is?

k i figured out what scenes are doin it. when i right click a clip n go to properties, u can edit the playback rate. i was working under the assumption that this is how u speed up and slowdown scenes (at least when i preview in vegas i have no issues after changin playback rates) now any scenes that i have sped up (meaning playbiack > 1) the scene renders as black. however if i slowed down a scene to like 0.9 or 0.5 or w/e it would render correctly.

is there a different way i should use to speed up and/or slowdown scenes? or do i need to do soemthing else to get the render to work correctly?

using vegas 6.0d if that makes a diff

you can try right clicking on the clips (choose insert envelope) and adding a velocity band O.o

thats the only other way to change speed of clips that i know of, and it seems more reliable than the properties method
