Vegas Rendering Suggestions
Well i've been making amv's for about a year now and have always rendered them as mpeg's without thinking much of the quality. Well the most recent amv I have been working on I have put quite a lot of work into with quite a few effects and so I wanted to ask your opinions on which would be the best video settings to render the amv with. Any help would be appreciated and thank you.

huffyuv and lagarith are codecs... compressions... more particularly lossless codecs (so you shouldn't lose quality but you will still get some compression)
you choose "avi" as your container and you can go into "custom settings" to set the compression/codec... if you choose huffyuv or lagarith it will make a large file but it will not lose any quality.
and after you have exported lossless you take that lossless copy clean up more with avisynth if you need to and use Virtualdub Mod to compress it further to XVID (which is another codec) in an avi container.
if you don't want to do that you can use Zarxgui and avisynth (and yes you need to use avisynth with it) and compress it to h.264 in an mp4 container (h.264 is another codec/compression) this will achieve higher quality with a smaller file size than XVID..
you can get anywhere from drastic results:

sorry but this statement almost makes me laugh, avisynth isn't solely for "taking care of subs" its for cleaning up your footage as well, and cropping off black edges and fixing the aspect ratio (if you have an AR problem)I have already taken care of the subs. So I don't think i'd need AVISynth.
