Problems with Vegas 6 (i going to become crazy)

The problem is that the %&$ Vegas 6 don´t want import videos .avi ,compresed with Xvid and DivX codecs, and i have the codecs intalled in my PC, and when i go to export the audio compr Lame mp3 say: ERROR: an error was ocurred when traying to open the audio codecs, i don´t know why is this /&% errors i do everything , reinstall the codecs, the vegas, the computer, EVERYTHING. HELLPPP.

Please i want edit videos help.

and by adobe premiere I mean sony vegas (I should get the vegas one too)

and you shouldn't be editing with mp3's either

but all of my videos are encode in xvid and divx 5.2 pro and the audio with lame mp3 and work good but i don´t know why the (/%$ now is happen that, if anybody know one solution PLEASE tell me.
