mask and do multi over-lays of objects with "Sony's Movie Studio 11"

( I can do this kinda stuff Blind-Folded in Magix Video Pro x4 )
I .. couldn't get it to work in "Adobe Premiere Elements 11" either, therefore; I know its me!
.. Is there a HOW TO on doing Layers, Masking and Multi-Level Layers somewhere?
( I'm getting REEEEEELY tired of waiting on Magix to catch-up with me; Sony
