Um well since the link isnt working I'll just tell you how to find the video. it's on youtube and the user is pwilliard. he has a video called Kingdom hearts-Comatose(not the chipmunk one), it's just at the start of the video and theres a bit nearer the middle-end that has the same effect but with solid color instead

if you know how to make a piano key its the same exact thing
all you need to do to "make it different" is lower the opacity

you can do it a couple ways:
1 make a bar in photoshop and import the file to Vegas and lower the opacity
2. use a solid color media generator and either mask out a block of it or add the cookie cutter and extend the "repeat y" bar all the way to the right and lower the opacity.

hmm see with the media generator?is it the solid white colour you use?
and how do you edit the size of it?since I tried it just there by having it on part of a clip and the length as 00:00:00;10 but all it did was make the clip fade slowly to white and then solid white before moving on to next part of clip :S

Yeah I seen your reply just as I hit Submit lol
There's numbers when I open the media generator window.Just at the bottom of all the colour things,is it something to do with that?
And there's like this timeline thing underneath, what's it for?
Sorry for all the questions,I've been using the interactive tutorials all of today to try out some stuff but I still don't really get some of it.
