vegas markers
ok i know its possible to mark your timeline (heh and bloody useful too) but is it possible to put markers on ur clips? like if i want a certain section of a clip to match up with my marker on the timeline, can i put a marker on my clip somehow rather than adjust, check adjust check, and repeat like 3-4 times till i get it how i want it.
anyone know if this is possible?

What I do is put the marker on the timeline (pressing the M key on my keyboard) and slide it to where I want it in the music. Then I put the cursor line on the marker and watch the preview screen while moving the clip into place.
I know you can put markers on the trimmer but I forget if that will carry over to the timeline or not.

for example i have a clip 1 second long, i want the 0.75 second part of the clip to lineup with my marker on my timeline, is there any way i can mark my clip at 0.75 so that i just lineup the 2 diff markers, or do i have to essentially just try to use my judgement by looking at it. (its a basic example, cause its not always an exact time that i know to lineup just trying to give the idea). mostly its 'event X' occurs at 'point y' in the clip, and i want 'point y' to lineup with marker on timeline.
thats the idea of what im after, a way to mark my subclips at 'point y' if that makes sense

i see what you are saying
and it sounds like the problem may be the fact the frame rate of your project is preventing the exact line up... because you can't really cut off 1/2 (or in your case 3/4?) a frame...
you could try setting the frame rate higher in the project settings but I donno how much that would help

its not as much a specific case thing, its more just a general purpose help, if i could do it that way every time it would be useful. the specific case i was using it for is the expression on someons face changes about 2/3 of the way through the clip, and i wanted the exact expression change to occur on a specific beat, and while i got it arranged properly after adjusting a few times and changing the speed of the clip slightly, i would prefer it if i could just mark the clip (even on a frame by frame mark, not half frames etc)

as shown there, i have the marker, and what ive done is cut the clip into secions, and sped up/slowed down certain sections so that i could match the sync with the part of the clip that i want, what i was after is a way to mark the clip so that i could just lineup the marker of the clip with the marker on the timeline

i donno as nice as that feature would be I wonder if anyone has found something like that?
i know you can export a clip from vegas with a marker on it and set it to "keep the markers" and when you import it again it will have the marker in the clip:

but imho that would be a waste of time to export and import your clips like that
