Which video should I submit into an AMV contest?

Post by bluebunneh » Wed Jun 04, 2008 11:52 pm

I'm torn between two videos and I can't figure out which one I should submit.

Here's my favorite : http://youtube.com/watch?v=gFAixqD3SG4

The only problem though is it's not very attention grabbing, and not everyone knows of the anime I used...

So I thought maybe I should enter this one : http://youtube.com/watch?v=aRgbtM9Qr3g

I don't care anymore for the song I used but it has a ton of great anime in it that people would recongize and it's more upbeat than the other one I like.

If anyone can help me decide I'd appreciate it... thanks

Well...as you say...

I don't know the series of vid #1 and the slow tempo doesn't help keep my intrest.

I did enjoy the second one more...it felt more exciting and your footage choices were pretty unique and fun. Although I would clean up some of the footage a bit, some clips seemed to be of lower quality then others (and what was up with the numbers in the upper left corner during those few clips eva->eureka 7?).

Can't you just submit both? Or are you definetly submitting a third you didn't mention?

The numbers are from the timestamp that was displayed on the television when the person captured it from broadcast...

Truthfully this may seem mean, but I'd not enter either... (or maybe only the first one.)

The first one seemed rather slow so it might put the audience to sleep, but you might get the attention of a couple people in the audience who will want to look up the anime... it doesn't have as many visual defects as the second one... However a good number of the time Drama is an over flooded category, so it might get cut anyways.

The second one seems really random (from the first bits I saw) it might catch more people's attention, but in the end depending on the con rules, those numbers in the corner might be an instant disqualifier. Most cons have rules about not using fansubs, and the numbers in the corner are an instant give away that it's fansub footage.

however if you are talking about an online contest between tubers I would say that it doesn't matter, send which one you want to send because they have no taste over there anyways.
