New AMV needs opinions

Post by Lain_001 » Thu Aug 02, 2007 9:56 pm

I will give one opinion in exchange for an opinion on mine. Please no MPEG 4/Quicktime movies.

Before you read the description or go on to the download link please bear in mind that I will put up a local file of this video when hell freezes over. If you are going to rate me low just because it is on a streaming site. Then don't even bother. Thank you. ^_^

At first, your Link is marked as DIRECT, while its actually a indirect Link :/ Next..Streaming sites always lower the quality a lot..also most likely the re-viewablity of the vid will be a lot lower as well, since you always have to go to the other stupid website when you are going to watch it. So how in the world can you expect good ratings for visual Quality and re-view ability? :?

First of all who gives a rats ass what "kind" of link it is, most people don't even care what it is anyway or they don't even work. At least with mine you can view it, instead of finding out that local file turns out to be a WMM project instead of an actual video. And least my stuff is safe from being stolen and ripped apart as I have heard happens to videos on this site. How would you like it if someone stole your AMV?

i bet i could steal your amv off of that streaming site >.>

and yea, you should care if its a direct or indirect link because that is how the site handles the link

DIRECT link should be to the file directly, and an indirect should go to a webpage where you can dl it,

because indirect will open in a new window/tab so the person doesnt have to press the back button or try to surf back to get back to the org...

DIRECT link goes directly to the file, that way when you click it then the download (depending on how you have your browser set up) will automatically start, or you can right click and save as to save it

if you right click and save as and get a webpage saved to your hd dont you think you would be annoyed by not getting a video instead?

I know very well that there are several ways of getting stuff off of a streaming site. But most of the time you have to know what you are doing, for the video to come out at some what decent quality. Most of the converters out there only convert things to 320/260 at very low resolution. I am sorry to have angered you, but I would appreciate it, if you please respect me and my wishes to not put up a local file. I just don't want my stuff distributed and used without my permission. As far as the links are concerned, I still don't care.

Can't you not get ops if you don't have a local version up? Or did they fix that?
