I'm not sure if this would be allowed here (the forum description
is vague in this regard) but if not I'd appreciate guidance on the
matter. It's an experiment of sorts.

I'd be interested in providing opinions without asking for any
in return (a custom which I believe skews reviews). However,
there are a few conditions:

1) I'd post the opinion here. I'm not sure if this would be allowed
but if I am to believe the forum's description ("Opinion Exchange")
I don't see why not. If critiques cannot be posted here, is there
a forum where they could be?

2) I'm not all that emphatic in my opinions, and use exclamation
marks very sparingly :) I'll just write what I think without needlessly
boosting egos or hurting feelings. However, I would like to
challenge the editors with respect to their decisions (meaning,
I'll often ask "why did you decide to put this scene here?")

3) In light of the point above, I care a whole lot more about
storyline than any other AMV trait. Fast editing and FX mean
very, very little to me. I'm also partial to "reality based" anime,
and so react much more favourably towards videos which
use anime such as Umi ga Kikoeru, Omohide Poro Poro,
Koi Kaze, Millennium Actress, Doukyusei or even Azumanga Daioh.
A DBZ AMV can be good, but that's usually in _spite_ of being DBZ :)

If feasible I'd start with a couple of vids, just to see how it goes.
I'd just post in this thread if that's OK.

So, there it is. Does this make sense? Would it be allowed?

I think you have to leave an opinion in order to view them?
In any case, I've always posted my thoughts on the forums,
it just seems the easiest thing to do. I don't believe in numeric
scores either, I don't see the point in assigning numbers.
Note that I don't want to start long-winded arguments, I'll just
post the opinion and that'll be that (but will be happy to
further the discussion privately if so wished).

That's it, nothing particularly exciting. However, if the mods
object to this I'll just call it off, no big deal.
