Wow... Thanx for the responses. It's amazing how so many people can decide differently.

I'll be sure to repay the favor. Look for them soon!

People who havent made an AMV ever should never leave ops...

Gemberkoekje wrote:Here i go :P

First and foremost i want to ask you to take any critisism and do something with it. Do not critisise me for critisising you, but look at your vid and ask yourself if i'm right.

Second - i am not a AMV maker yet, though i'm working on one. So that review i'm still getting of you :P

Now for the review (i should really make some less noise here)

The beginning was really overwhelming and busy. It took me about 20 seconds to realise this was actually just the beginning. And then it took off - Fast, deadly, and well timed. This is something i really enjoyed during your video, you seem to have a well timed sense of timing :P

I think a AMV should be more than a well timed collection of random pictures, and this is where my personal first backdraw is. There doesn't seem to be any kind of story or line involved, i think this is a shame. After a while i really wondered why i was watching all this violence. But then the little more 'relaxed' part came. I think you did this really well.

You make use of a lot of effects. Although effects can be fun, i think they overwhelm a bit in your video, leaving the pure, untouched anime under a crust. Since i think Anime is one of the nicest things on earth, i also think you shouldn't put too much make up on.

Final Judgement:
Pro's:
Well timed.
Really enjoyable at times.
Looks quite professional.

Ad's:
A little too busy for my tastes. (Talking about the video now)
No visual (story)line
Maybe too much effects used.

Giving it a 7.5 on - well - my scale :P
After reading your review of Complete Authority... let me say this...

*ahem* I'll quote a one time famous line from way back when WWE was still WWF (after it turned to WWE i stopped watching)

Take your critisism... shine it up real nice... and shove it

I'll ask for AltruisticCrono himself...

"Is he right? Even though he's never made an AMV ever and thinks he could be right in comparison to an AMV creator himself?... no"

People should have at least 5 AMVs under their belts before they are allowed to leave stupid ops on a-m-v.org... just my opinion, so dont critisise me about critisising you even though I'm right and your wrong.

Complete Authority critiqueness.

To Gemberkoekje:

Uhhh, isn't it listed under Action?

That kind of means that it's supposed to contain action. It doesn't HAVE to have a story. That's like rating an action movie really low because it doesn't have enough pink fluffy bunnies in it. :?

Low rating for effort... and yet you've never made an amv yourself. That's hardly fair considering the EXTREME amount of editing, effects and effor that was obviously put into this video. It's hard enough just to edit scenes on each musical measure, which can still make a good video. Very hard to edit on beats. Extremely difficult to manipulate various layers in a way that doesn't clash, but flows evenly and still matches the music's atmosphere.

AC was careful to select scenes carefully to match both subtle nuances and hard beats. And yet... you think that took minimal effort. Tell you what, open up Movie Maker 2 or Adobe Premiere and make your own AMV. Make it with better edits than "Complete Authority" had, on every beat and every note and lyric. Make tons of effects that actually work (years of making music vids and I'm STILL not good at that myself!), instead of cliche, cheesy, or awkward edits. Unlike AC's which all worked in harmony. THEN you can come back and say how much effort he must have put into his own video.

Non-AMV creators are very capable of leaving intelligent opinions. But when it comes to effort and effects... You gotta learn to look from other people's perspectives and realize how much effort it truly takes to work with beats and layers.

You spoke as if you are a well of knowledge who knows better, offering honorable advice to an underling with your arm over his shoulder and a knowing smile on your face. If your opinions actually held up to fact, then nobody WOULD criticize your criticism. However, in this case, it's not fair to lower someone's average on grounds that leak like a seive.

As for the low originality score... Like many have said before, there haven't been any truly great Iria vids before. So his is a first in its field. Heck, there aren't even all that many strictly Iria vids downloadable either. And considering how old the anime is, it was pretty neat that he went back to it, instead of all the shiny new widespread stuff everywhere.

.....Ok I'm done. No fancy conclusion, I've said my piece. ^_^;; (And have already left my own opinion on the video, on the actual form thingie)

*points up at Sephiroth X's and _Ice-Angel_'s posts*

couldn't have put it better myself. How on earth you can possibly look at AltruisticCrono's "Complete Authority" and not see an amazing, original, piece of perfection is beyond me.

Complete Authority is THE BEST video i have ever viewed.

*shakes head*

i just can't believe it...

No visual (story)line
i'm sorry but what? I don't know if you have ever seen Iria: Zeiram The Animation but Complete Authority follows the storyline down to the letter. After watching it I had the sudden urge to go back and watch Iria again (even though i'd already watched it 2 weeks before >_< and after watching it the second time, after seeing Complete Authority i think AC got the storyline down perfect. Everything goes in pretty much chronological order (making slight changes here and there for the song of course) and tells the story.

SPOILERS
________

It shows Iria going on the mission with Gren and Bob. It shows Gren fighting Zeiram. It shows Bob die. It shows the ship blow up with Zeiram and Gren onboard. It shows Iria on the planet with the kids (can't remember planet name). It shows here fighting Zeiram (who survived the explosion). It shows Iria fighting the Zeiram/Gren clone/hybrid.

I can't be bothered writing the rest of the storyline so i'll just say this.

IT SHOWED THE STORYLINE PERFECT!

Nothing was wrong with Gemberkoekje's review. :? He was trying to be honest, and he was pretty polite about it too. He didn't like some things about the video, and he said what they were. I thought it was constructive criticism, even if I don't necessarily agree with all the points.

Anyways, I'll take you up on the opinion exchange offer, AltruisticCrono. I'll op your vid soon, then could you take a look at this video? Thanks. :)

I'll get on those reviews. Thanx for the exchange :D

And thank you for those who defended me when I couldn't (SephirothX, Prodigi, and _Ice Angel_). Although I already accepted his opinion (and a little disappointed about it), it was kind of you to offer your time.
