Lightning Affects

Can someone tell how u can add lightning affects to ur amv like in the amv Naruto Whisper of the Beast by Skorpions Unlimited, if u have seen it u might know or go to google and enter Naruto Whisper of the Beast to see wat i am talking about

It looks like the default lightning render from After Effects.

Yes. I think even 6.5 does have it, not sure, though.
