Smooth zoom out transition?

Post by Jimk » Wed Sep 27, 2017 8:18 am

Hello

https://youtu.be/lqH_sIDRFdE?t=19

I would like to know how to make the transition that is used above at around the 0:18-0.20 mark.
I am using the Adobe After Effects CC 2017 version in case you needed to know

Thanks.

This effect itself is pretty simple but it's also hard. It's really just different layers animating and rotoed at key edges to allow them to integrate nicely. From a technical execution angle, it's quite simple.

...But it's also hard. It's carefully selected footage and edges, the motion and rotos are carefully animated to allow each layer to play into the next. So it took a lot of consideration and forethought. So the creative effort was not simple even if the technical expiation can be made easily.

So there's no 'trick' to this execute this, it's something that takes planning.
