Keyframe Interpolaion in AE, oh my god...

Hey guys, I'm making an edit in After Effects and wanted to know how some people precisely adjust keyframe interpolation when making images slide very fast and within a short time range (like in 6 second vine edits). My own edit is basically an image sliding from left to right, which then abruptly disappeares as another image picks up from where it left off; the 2nd image then continues to slide and starts slowing down as it nears it's end position, continuing to decrease in speed as it changes it's course and moves diagonally down to the right. It seems very simple and looks good when I assign to it 3-4 seconds; but when I decrease it's time to 14 frames it begins to get jumpy. Tried tweaking graph editor myself and apply ease and wizz, but to no avail; was wondering if some of you with more experience might help (any resources or tutorials are welcomed too).
