Colour Filter Sony/AE?

Post by micktam12 » Sat Jun 20, 2009 2:28 am

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a filter that can create colour blends or rain bow effects.
Just like in Attack of the Otaku AMV. How there were multiple colour changes in the background.

I had an idea of doing it in After effects and just do it by scratch and get multiple colour solids and key frame them across with a colour blend.
And using the Rainbow filter but i was hoping there could be another way.

Please help :)

You could always make a png in Photoshop or GIMP to your liking, add it in a layer above what you want, and change the opacity or do different blending modes.

To be precise, you'd have to key it manually like you said,

If you just want it to fluctuate all over the place. Take a single solid and rig it's opacity with a wiggle expression with the amount set to 100 and a fairly high rate. Then add a fill to the solid, and attach the same expression to the color selector.
