The inaugural 1000 Islands Music Fest in Gananoque, ON is proud to announce the legendary Snoop Dogg has been added to the lineup. He’ll be performing on Saturday, August 15th.

This will be one of Ontario's largest music festivals of 2009, The 1000 Islands Music Festival will take place August 13, 14, 15, 2009 at The Dingman Farm located at 15 Pykeview Drive, Gananoque, in Leeds and 1000 Islands Township. Iconic in stature and in essence, Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. has carved out a permanent place in musical history. Undeniably, the rapper, producer, actor, entrepreneur, coach, husband and father affectionately called Snoop Dogg, has performed the most unique balancing act that hip hop has ever witnessed. Never short on vision, drive or ambition, the sharp talking wordsworth has managed to redefine and reinvent himself over the course of his fifteen year career, each time revealing a distinctive cache from the depths within. His rhythmic cadences are classic in nature and his demeanor is as laid back and effortless as the brand extensions he has created for himself.

5… Singer Castle on Dark Island is open for Snoop and crew to have a guided tour of the intricate architecture, beautiful furnishings and puzzling secret. Slightly confused, though, when he realizes there’s no microphone or amp to make the crowizzle goizzle bananizzles!

4…Skydive Gananoque will help Snoop with the most exciting and up to date method of making his first jump, the ultimate thrill of a Tandem Freefall Skydive from 10,000 feet. Their staff includes skydivers who are recognized within the sport community for their achievements and skill. Whizzle comizzle upizzle, musizzle comizzle dowizzle.

3… Snoop can then take in the breathtaking view from the 1000 Islands Skydeck to see the 1000 Islands & St. Lawrence River. He’ll dig the panoramic view of the 1000 Islands and St Lawrence River stretched out 130 metres or 400' below. Getting hizzle is gonna be off the hoizzle, fo' shizzle.

2… Putt'n Play Mini Golf is Eastern Ontario's best Miniature Golf location. 18 Holes, 1000 Islands-themed miniature golf course featuring waterfall and lake. 1…The Gananoque Boat Line is the only boat line that shows you all the Islands. Having his own 3-hour tour can start Snoop’s day in a perfect way - On the water, in the sun, with his favourite Playstation games at hand. He doesn’t even need a wetsuit to discover the Lost Ships of the 1000 Islands, the widescreen monitors will do it all for him. Best of all, he won’t have to use conditioner for his hair fo' frizzle.

It's expected that The 1000 Islands Music Festival will draw crowds from all over Ontario, Quebec and upper New York State and bring an expected 15,000 new visitors to the region. The festival organizers have assembled a roster of artists that have established world-wide success, and also a great list of Canadian independent and major label recording artists. The location will house two stages; accommodate over 30,000 people, camping for as many as 4,000, with food vendors, 2 beer gardens, and a VIP LLBO tent near the main stage.

The festival kicks off on the evening of Thursday Aug 13th with a celebration of the community. The event will wrap up with a large fireworks display Saturday August 15th.

The confirmed artists include: Snoop Dogg, Akon, Simple Plan, Kardinal Offishall, Ten Second Epic, Faber Drive, IllScarlett, Lights, Pilot Speed, Plain White T’s, The Latency, Stereos, NLX, The Joys, Amanda Rheaume, Motion Picture Ending, My Favorite Tragedy, Hello Beautiful, Official Blues Brothers Revue, Ianspotting, Emily Fennell, Graham Greer, Randy and Mr. Lahey (From the Hit Showcase TV Series, The Trailer Park Boys), Ko Kapches, We Are The Take, Irish Descendants, The Warped 45s, The New Cities, The Arkells, The Free Press.

Tickets can be purchased by debit, or credit card at www.ticketbreak.ca or by visiting JCS Computers, or Box Office Entertainment in Gananoque. Tickets will also be available at all Tyroute Telus Locations in Belleville, Kingston, and Gananoque.
