When I began work on the Heero and Relena AMV I just finished today and uploaded, which featured a song of theirs, I realized that The Scorpions are the best hard rock band to ever come out of Germany. They've been around since the mid-60's. Originally, guitarist Rudolf Schenker (spell that right?) wasn't just the guitarist, he was also the lead vocalist. Later on, he decided the band needed a frontman. My knowledge on the history of the band isn't that great though, so I don't know if Klaus was their first lead vocalist after Rudolf gave up the position and just played guitar and sang back up vocals, but the band had their commercial breakthrough in 1984 with their album Love At First Sting, which featured the smash Rock You Like A Hurricane. The album also featured the hits Big City Nights, and Still Loving You. In 1990, The Scorpions released Crazy World, and a year later, the album produced their biggest hit:Wind Of Change, which went to #4, and I think this is their best song. Plus it has a deep meaning. This album also had another big hit called Send Me An Angel, but I don't know if that came out before or after Wind Of Change though. The band is still around today continuing to tour and record new material, and still somewhat in a way famous. This is another band I still haven't seen live, and want to. I'll bet they kick a load of ass live. I have their live album World Wide Live on vinyl, and I need to get it on CD so I can copy it to my iPod. It's one of the best live albums ever made, right up there with Kiss' Alive!, Peter Frampton's Frampton Comes Alive, Bob Seger's Live Bullet, Eric Clapton's Unplugged, and Metallica's S&M. -makes plans to buy World Wide Live next time he gets paid- Other Scorpions songs I like that I didn't mention yet are:
