Dir En Grey is one of my favorite bands ever. There style is so diverse that I can't even describe it! I've heard them being labled as pop, punk, goth, industrial, to god-knows-what! And I believe that that's the sign of a truely unique band.
Every album they put out is incredible, always brimming over with pain, screaming, abuse, loneliness, allusions to rape, incest, abortion, and murder not to mention the many references to S&M. They always offer some incredible listenings, with some great catchy singles, and some genuinely surprising album tracks which not only rock but are smartly done and most importantly not over produced. Kyo's voice is a mix between growl and opera, with lisping and panic. You could certainly follow that voice into hell (as I sure did).
All I can say is, I'm hooked.
If you ever run across this awesome Jrock band on WinMX or Kazaa or something...try these songs to start:
Hydra
Zan
Cage
Yokan
Hotarubi
[KR]Cube
Ain't Afraid to Die
Jessica
Embryo

I think I got some of their songs once, but didn't really care for them.
One of my favorite gothic styled singers is Raymond Watts (aka PIG), of former and current KMFDM fame. His lyrics vary from incubus like (in the entity, not the band sense) to dystopian, to psychopathic (coolly homicidal), to tormented.
Cool songs, if you can find them:
My Sanctuary
Save Me
Scumsberg
Gravy Train
Blood Slicked Highway
Find It Fuck It Forget It

Better than hide!? You're insane
lol, yeah...
I was convinced that the drummer, Shinya, was female until I saw a pic of him with his shirt off. I thought Shinya was kinda cute too
Yeah, Child Prey is a cool song, same with Filth. They have a new single coming out in January by the way. I believe it's called Drain Away and it's being released on the 22nd.
I'm excited!
