All these topics asking for downloaded music...

Post by SS5_Majin_Bebi » Thu Oct 28, 2004 10:08 pm

Ok I've just stumbled across no less than 4 of these threads. Do people not know how to read the forum rules or are they just too bone-idle-fucking-lazy? Let me spell it out for you, n00bs:

Under no circumstances are you to ask for downloadable or pirated material, whether it be anime, movies, or music. It's against the forum rules for one, and secondly, it's just plain fucking annoying.

Can't some high-ranking .ORG official either make this topic a sticky, or at least make A sticky topic that deals with this issue? Because all these topics are doing is taking up space when they're posted, and time when they're replied to or locked.

Thank you for your time. :?

While a sticky may be a good idea, it might also be seen as a little redundant if it wouldn't have more than a restatement of the forum rules.

And experience has shown that stickies don't affect people who, for whatever reason, don't take the time to read them (or the forum rules) before posting... and experience has also shown that there are many such people.

I only ask because people are obviously NOT reading the forum rules, for whatever reasons, but most likely because they're too lazy to find the important info.

So I say stick the pertinent details for each forum topic (eg Music/Video/Anime etc) at the top of each section (so in Music have this one that i'm suggesting, in Video have one about downloading source footage, in Anime have one about bootlegging etc...) at least THAT way, you'll know that people are deliberately ignoring the rules and the mods can be more justified in freezing or removing offenders accounts. :?

Justification is for pansies. :D

I got "pwnted" (I think that's how the kids are saying it these days) for having a larger sig than I was supposed to, and I was surprised at how fast and effective the mods and admin team were. If clogging is really such a problem, they could just delete the threads instead of locking them, but I don't think a three-post locked thread is going to cause Hardcore System Overload for somebody's server.

I never said it WOULD, jesus!! Would people just fucking READ my goddamm posts or just not bother replying, for fucks sake?

It's not an issue of whether its clogging or not, its the irritation factor. Now I know that eventually the mods are going to get pissed off with telling people not to do the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again - especially when the reason they have to is because people are too lazy to read the forum TOS. What I"m proposing is a way to make sure they can't use the excuse "Oh, I didn't see that bit" by making it right there in their faces. Then the mods are happy, I'm happy, the n00bs are happy, and we're all one big happy family. Just by writing a sticky.

But no, you'ld rather just have the mods continually having to lock threads, because its "easier" and "oh well, the other way wouldn't work any better anyway, who are you kidding?". So just STFU. :?

This is the same thing as the issue with people asking "how to make an amv" type question. People arent going to look at the sticky, they arent going to look at the boards rules. They are just gona come here, post a stupid thread about downloading music/anime/whatever then get flamed about it and when a mod see's it it'l be locked. Its the same shit over and over and fucking over. The only solution i can think of is to have a big banner at the top of the board saying "DONT ASK HOW TO DOWNLOAD ANIME OR MUSIC. YOU WILL BE BANNED" . And then simply ban people who still do ask the sort of question. Not like they're gona contribute anything to the forum or amv comunity anyway.

Can someone tell me where to download the new Ashlee Simpson song illegally? I heard it's really good and want to download it so I can listen to it without ever paying for it.

if this is getting stickied, you'd have to draw a line between legally downloadable music and illegally downloadable music/sound files.

example: the nes project used legally downloaded music.
