Tool's Holy Gift
Not a new album, no, but very close.

This is possibly the most amazing thing I've heard in my life, pertaining to music. I'm going to try this later tonight and see if it actually has merit, but it is a perfectly sound theory with not a single flaw that I could find. Everything fits together perfectly, which is the very essence of the experiment. I highly recommend that everyone, Tool fans or not, read this and pursue it if it interests you.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

In all seriousness (and I don't mean to offend anyone), I can't believe I read all of that just for it to be 'play the White Album backwards to hear satanic messages' taken to a whole new level of conspiratorial rabid fandom. Great... now the hardcore Tool fans have another excuse to proclaim them to be the greatest band that ever is or ever will be.

irreguardless, you have to give a band props for being able to record songs with a mathimatical algorythm that when plotted will give you a spiral, which in turn gives you an order to play the songs in. It's incredible that they were able to pull it off, unique or not, then to not publically come out with it, thats kind of cool. I personally would have been bragging my ass off.
Ploink! Magic Cupcake! Elvenking. I'm sorry, I can't hear you over how awesome I am.

Got a point there, nailz.
I mean, whether or not you consider 'math rock' stuff pretentious, you gotta hand it to the guys that record it with some tricky, well-calculated idea and then, instead of using that for promotion, hold it off.
If there's any modern band I respect for artistic integrity and lack of any desire for artificial promotion or dispropotionate fame, it's Tool indeed. Though, myself, I can't say I'm more than 'quite sympathetic' to the band, at least yet. Not a massive fan, in other words.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
