there are places I remember
all my life
though some have changed
some for...ever not for better
some come and some remain
all these places have their moments
with lovers and friends
I can still recall
some are dead and some are living
in my life
I've loved them all
but of all these friends and lovers
there is no one
compares with you
and these memories lose their meaning
when I think of love
as something new
though I know I'll never lose affection
for people and things
that went before
and I know I'll often stop and think about them
in my life

Cash did a nice cover of this, too, on one of his cover albums. But I prefer the Beatles' version.

There was no original purpose just to share and admire the song. I had just watch a video of Dave Matthews Covering the song at the Lennon Tribute 2 years ago.

If you want a point: to share it with people who don't know the song.

Just as long as it doesn't become a trend that crowds out the other posts in this forum, I personally don't see the harm.

Today is also his birthday.

I did start a thread for people to post lyrics they like, but not alot of people cared so I don't think this will become a trend.
