Integrating visual timing elements (clock-like motion) in AMVs

Hi,

I’m working on AMV edits and I was wondering how some people handle rhythmic visual elements, like adding time-based markers or circular motion objects synced with music.
I sometimes see edits with very clean transitions, quite minimal, where everything feels aligned with a steady mechanical kind of motion. It reminds me a bit of modern wall clock designs, with simple shapes and smooth rotation.
What do you usually use for this kind of effect? More like basic animation plugins, or do you build everything manually inside your editing software?

I’m trying to keep things visually clean, not too overloaded, but still well synced with timing.
