What to do with 5TB of AMVs
Hey all.
Long time no see.
I happen to be one of the individuals who donated $1k to the .org for the AMV hard drive. Well, save for turning it on for about 10 minutes, the novelty quickly wore off and it's been sitting around unused since.
I felt like formatting it would be a travesty to everything I believe in.
So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could do with this?
I thought of giving it away to someone who might use it, but I'm afraid they'd just say they'd use it and actually just end up wiping it.
My harddrive did get signed by Phade, but since we have literally the same name with the same spelling, it just seems a bit weird. Like did he sign it or was he addressing it to me? I'll never know (maybe).
Creative solutions?

You can use hdd as mouse pad
You can open it for another 10 minutes and watch an amv.
You can show it to some user then hide it, to tease them.
I would like that for some boring days xd.

I thought about taking pics, but that would involve digging it out of storage (which is in the garage, so not too far, but...).
If there's interest I suppose I could do it tomorrow.

I would actually plug it in, copy the data onto a larger array that I keep backed up so the data was easily accessible and hopefully more secure and then frame/display the drive somewhere (where specifically right now I don't know since I'm living out of boxes atm cuz' moving in is a slow process when there is 6 people's worth of stuff to go through but yeah)
Least that's what I'd do with it....

@ngsilver
I came here for ideas like that. I don't have a larger array so I'm not sure what to do with the data situation at the moment, but framing it does sound like a great idea and I think I'll do that.
