So Christmas stuff

Post by dreamawake » Tue Dec 14, 2010 12:55 pm

What are you hoping to acquire/receive/trade in for money to get what you really want?

In addition, what are you planning to give if you can safely say so here?

I'm hoping to get me a turntable this year. I'm counting on money from family to get it.

I'll probably receive some drugs from friends, too.

I'm planning to give a friend of mine a special smokebox to keep his shit in at home. I'm sending out a few christmas cards, some of those will have some personal "Joey trinkets". Other than that, I'll make shit up along the way to pass off as hopefully halfway decent gifts.

Sucks bein' broke, sucks even more bein' broke on the holidays. Give what you can guys, it's the thought that counts. :)

I'm giving a friend of mine the complete series of Trigun, and I'm buying the complete series of Eden of the East for myself.

well, I'm hoping to get everything on the following list: http://ngsilver.com/xmas

Of course I know that most likely wont happen, since my parents will focus on the PC parts, my friends and the rest of the family will focus on the rest, and only my friends will buy me anime. Also, didn't include the TV tuner I really want in that list, The Ceaton InfiniTV 4, so that's something I'm working toward with gifts I return.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm giving to my parents. Usually a Willowtree Angel for my mom and a dvd/BD for my dad (don't know if they've finally gotten an HDTV or not yet). Got the Mrs. a bunch of good stuff, like Hello Kitty Merch (since she loves it and keeps asking me for it) and a few Wii games (yay free $30 gift card from bestbuy shipping with orders :D). She didn't ask for it specifically, but I think she'll enjoy this. My sibs and I have for the last few years foregone giving presents to each other and instead just gone out for dinner and a movie/bowling/fun instead since it's cheaper (my little bro's still in college and doesn't work during the school year.) Not sure where or what we're going to be doing this year though. Since the only time we will have to do something will be xmas day in the evening and atm I don't know what will be open except chinese food and movie theaters, or if my sister and brother in-law will be up to it after driving up from Kentucky that day.

The big thing I'm hoping for is for the weather to warm up a bit so I can enjoy my hookah once or twice over the holidays (can't smoke it in the house.) Oh yeah, and a nice cigar for New Years. Still gotta pick that out.

Giving:

1) Helluva lot of Aeropostal crap for the teenage cousins/brothers/sisters
2) Paid for my eldest brother's senior pictures
3) Coach Purse & Wallet for mother/sister
4) Moon Dough for youngest sister
5) Arkansas Razorback hoodies [from the official store] for Grandpa/Dad/Stepdad
6) Giftcards to iTunes [for the cousins who are getting iPods for Christmas from their respective parents]
7) Chocolates for my boss/coworkers.
8) Jewelry for snobby bitch.
9) Vidja games for cousin.

Seems long, but my family gatherings total to 4 [for each side of the family, including my dad's side], and I'm buying for like 30+ people.

Hoping to Get:
1) Wasted Talent Comic Compilation Book
2) COD Black Ops / Golden Sun Dark Dawn / Epic Mickey / Fallout 3 GOTY / Dissidia Final Fantasy
3) Eden of the East
4) New Calculator

I already know that I'm getting Fallout 3 and Dissida , but I'm serious about the calculator. I need something better for classes and work. >_< ?But I'm probably getting cash because my family thinks vidja games are EVIL and anime is SATAN and that my webcomic obsession is unhealthy and in need of treatment.

I really want that calculator though. >_>'

Were you looking at anything specific? I've got a TI 84 Plus lying around that I barely use, and if I could pass it on to someone I know would get use out of it, I'd be more than happy to ship it out as an Xmas gift.

Actually, the TI 84 brand and anything with that kind of functionality is banned at my college. They caught a kid cheating by storing a TON of stuff in a document file and acing a final exam with it, and pretty much screwed the rest of us out of using one of the best calculators out there. xD

What I'm really looking for is something classy like this without the bulk or the paper attachment that isn't some cheap-ass flimsy thing that you can get at a dollar store. The ability to backspace/retain answers like the TI brand is a MUST. I've got a great 10 Key at work that is FANTASTIC [when all you do is type numbers all day, it's great to have an easy-to-use product], but I want it smaller and more compact. ;_;
