Finished up this quarter stronger than I expected. Having more fun than ever working on Motion Graphics/Visual Effects projects. If there ever was a sign that I'm looking at the right field, it's that I have a day of work ahead of me for my final project, and I'm excited by it.

Also, AWA in less than a week.

Not really sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, I'm a little torn, but the scales are slightly tipped toward hopeful.

So, ten years ago, I moved out of my father's house to go live with my mother (whom I had never met previously) because my stepmom was mentally and physically abusive and my dad sorta....disowned me and chose her. It hurt at the time, obviously, but I'm rather thick-skinned so I'm over it by now. But I haven't had an actual conversation with my dad since then, in those ten years. I'd shared a few words with him, but not more than a handful. He friended me on Facebook, only to unfriend me when my stepmom became aware of it.

This morning, I was doing a google search of his name (trying to see if I can find some of his music, he is a rather skilled pianist and guitarist) and I came across a court document detailing his divorce from my stepmom. Does this mean that *gasp!* I may have a shot at reconnecting? I dunno. Do I want to? I dunno. After all, he did hurt my teenage self fairly severely. Sometimes I prefer just to cut people out of my life permanently rather than leave myself vulnerable to being hurt by them again, but in this case, it's my father. So I'm really....not sure how I feel right now. At the very least, I am glad that he is rid of my stepmom.

Last of the computer parts arrived just before I left work yesterday. Setting this bad boy up tonight. It's been a good week for me technologically.

We went to three different liquor stores and perused their wares. We now have Smirnoff Melon, Blue Curacao, Cruzan Black Cherry Rum, Absolut Citron and a whole host of fruity mixer type stuffs.
