I'd like to know why so many people listen to it if not the fun/good party beat factor of it.

I don't really like it too much because my idea of fun in music is pretty different, but I'll grant rap the fact that I'm sure it's a solid, uncomplicated way of releasing some excess energy, etc.

Actually, that's also the reason I don't go to clubs. It's not that I think the music they usually play always sucks per se (though on occasion it does), it's just not in line with what I'm looking for. I'd imagine the average party goer wouldn't be too happy with my music preference, either...

I listen tojust about everything besides country, and thats because I've yet to hear any country that I like, much less can stand. If I do someday find country that I like, then I'll listen to it to...wtf is wrong with liking what you like, and enjoying it? I personally don't give a fuck how people label me because people who label and generalize others are just moronic anyway.

But anyway, theres plenty of rap I love...I'm just not a fan of the stereotypical mainstream rap: "rollin' on dubs, bumping my subs, smoking a bud, wit a bottle of mud, smakin' up mah bitches yo!".

Then again I think its funny when hypocritical "rock/metal fans" say they hate rap for these reasons when "their music" does the exact same thing.

first off who said you have to be a "gangsta" to go into a club... first off no one knows/cares if you are or aren't. Its not like you have to carry an official "I be a gangsta" ID card in order to get in. you sound more ignorant than half of the actual rappers themselves by saying something so damn stupid.

If you would just rather mosh than dance then thats your deal (probably the only thing that makes sense in your post)

(Catching aids?!?) How old are you now? because thats just flat out stupid.

And as for things that happen in hip hop clubs ... the same things happen in ANY club, which may include some of the following: lewd behavior/people enjoying their music of choice/ drinking/smoking(in states where its legal to do so)/ possible drug usage/people making asses out of themselves/and risk of people getting along not so well. and much more
