west hartford would be my hometown. it's a rich jewish suburb of the insurance capital of the world (hartford). noah webster lived here. aside from shopping, there's not too much to do in town.
i just moved down the road (I-84) to sandy hook. it's another rich suburban town, although not as dense. i'm still learning more and more about the town.

I do not, Castlegar is reletivetly sized, and far enough away that we don't actually have much contact with people there.guy07 wrote: Is there any chance you know a girl named Hannah George, if not, ask your dad if his principals name was mr.george. That's her dad, she says everyone there knew him.
And three problems with that. My dad died 8 years ago, grew up in Saskatchewan and would have been 63 this year. Unless her dad has been a principal for 45 years+, it would have been doubtful.
Just cause everyone in Castlegar knew him, means nothing out here in the boonies

Which will always be known as Leningrad to us old folks ....Otohiko wrote:Actually I think many places have their own groundhogs and may not have heard about Wiarton Willy (but I have, naturally).
Mmmm.... depends on what you mean.
"My town" is officially and always will be St. Petersburg, Russia. I've no reservation in saying I love that city, and, at any realistic opportunity, I'd go and live there again. It's the most northern city in the world of over a million people (and it has 5 million); it was founded by Peter the Great in 1703 as a new Russian capital and built largely on a plan, meaning that unlike many old cities, it's not a random collection of buildings but consists of carefully-arranged ensembles. The old part of St. Petersburg is officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Lots of history; lots of museums too, not the least the infamous Hermitage, the largest museum in the world.

I've still got a medal that says "born in Leningrad"
But eh, St. Petersburg is older than old folks, plus unlike Leningrad it has a highly usable shorthand - "Piter". I'm from Piter.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Re: YOU KNOW WHERE I'M FROM!!! >_<
If you are Human, chances are, you know where I''m from, maybe a few dolphins will too, I'm not sure. The Uterus. Doesn't ring a bell? You know fallopian tubes? Ovaries? the tight canal past the cervix and next to the bladder? See, you know! And the uterus is only a town of 7 or less. It's right next to the vagina, a really popular area (can you say 5 minutes of wet fun?) that is a huge tourist attraction. Strange how associating places with events makes bells ring, no?
and thats where I'm from.
I was born in the uterus, and spent the best 9 months of my life there.

Haha!! Small world! I'm in Cantley and have lived in Aylmer for a while!Otohiko wrote:I'm currently out in the Aylmer sector of Gatineau, Quebec.
Cantley, about 15 miles from Ottawa, is pretty much all you said about Aylmer, except smaller and with less road paving! I guess our big claim to fame is our dry material dump, which people have tried to get closing for years, without success. Oh, and Mont Cascade for skiing and water sliding.
But (correct me if I'm wrong, anyone) I think the Aylmer cans are named after Aylmer, Ontario...
