That's 'cause it's not Techno (at least according to allmusic and someone else I talked to on another message board a few months back). They're Industrial Dance/EBM, and that kind of music usually does have coherent vocals.badmartialarts wrote:I'm already too lazy to read through this thread to see if they got a mention, but check out Apoptygma Berserk. Kind of a anthem trance/house feel to the techno with a decent enough lead singer (yeah, I was confused too...techno with a lead singer....).
To anyone willing to listen:
If Apoptygma does suit your tastes (as far as Industrial Dance/EBM goes; I've not heard much of Apoptygma Berserk so I can't quite recall how heavy their music is), try checking out VNV Nation, Front 242, Skinny Puppy, The Cruxshadows, Vast, Nitzer Ebb, (early) Ministry, Front Line Assembly, Die Warzau, Cabaret Voltaire, or for something lower-key, Tin Star, Regency Buck, Bis, or VHS Or Beta. I also threw in some stuff that isn't Industrial Dance but would fit nicely on a playlist next to it.
