Cats are lame. Doesn't matter that I'm DEATHLY allergic... like... I COULD DIE... I just don't like cats.

I am measurably less allergic to dogs. Dogs are way better than cats.

Alas, I have no current companions. Not that I need any. I blame my girlfriend's dog for our relationship issues anyway, haha. =D

Oh god, I'm going to clog this thread up badly with pictures when I get home tonight. Our current zoo: 11 cats (4 permanent boys, 1 stray female we took in while pregnant, who now has 6 kittens), 3 mice, 2 gerbils, 2 hamsters, and 1 fish.

I've done the 5 years of allergy shots (for dogs, dust, mold, and oak trees) and my allergies barely bother me anymore. I'll sneeze a couple times and that's it. Dogs don't bother me at all anymore.

My husband is allergic to cats. When I lived in a fully carpeted apartment, his allergies drove him nuts, but now that we have hardwood floors, even 11 cats don't bother him much.

I guess that doesn't make sense without some explanation. We rescue stray cats and take cats from people who find strays. We clean them up, give them flea/ear mite/dewormer meds, socialize them if needed or possible, try to find homes for them, and if we can't, I work with a rescue group who will take them. So we have 4 boy cats that are our pets, any cats besides them are just transitory. The mama cat and her 6 babies won't be staying with us.

...Anyone in the NY area want a kitten?
