Windows VISTA - Seriously Scary!

One thing I haven't bothered looking into, is it stable on SATA drives and does it require drivers or are they included on the vista install? I haven't had a working floppy for like four years and have refused to get one just so I can reinstall an OS on my SATA drive.

I have been running it on two machines at work that are SATA
Haven't had any problems.

Well I have a successful dual boot with XP Home and Vista Ultimate now ^_^! I went dual boot since my 4+ year old computer doesn't run Vista as nice as I wish it could. However, now I get to experiment with Vista while I wait to get enough cash to build a new system.

May the new, crappy Vista Movie Maker videos begin !

ZOMG! Vista has features like OS X! You must be brilliant for pointing this out
If I had a dollar for every time someone stated the similarities between Vista and OS X, I could quit my job!

Hmm...lets see:

Instant searching- Not really an amazing or original idea even for OS X.
Gadgets- Konfabulator beat Vista and OS X's Dashboard to the idea.
Aero Glass- People like shiny and pretty crap to look at, nuff said.

Mac OS X isn't that original you know:

And anyways, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. No one is forcing you to buy Vista. Jeez!

How is Vista with computer games? I don't mean just the games of the Win32 era; I also want to know how it handles things like the Windows Entertainment Packs and DOS games.

I still hold that some of the games made in the 386 era were some of the best computer games ever.

I agree with anubisx00 and madbunny. I've been dual booting Vista betas and RCs on my laptop for months now and it is definitely an improvement though depending on your financial values/situation, it may not be worth it to upgrade right now... Personally, I've already bought Vista Ultimate for my desktop and plan to move my XP Pro install to my laptop.

I can't vouch for the really old games but the newer ones seem to work fine and the AMVapp and CCCP installed for me. (The later had to be run in xp compatibility mode though it was an older version of the installer so the CCCP team may have made a vista compatible installer by now.)
