I can call what I want gay. If I think that a guy who likes to listen to 5 grown men trying to swoon him is gay, then it's gay. Plus he even said I could call him gay so it isn't like I an just gonna drop the oppertunity to make fun of some one I don't know or care about.

i think its been goin on longer then the 90's. i always figured the whole boy band thing started with the beatles.Flint the Dwarf wrote:I think it's appalling that the Backstreet Boys can still make millions and millions from the same regurgitated, ritualistic, shallow crap that has been spewed all over the US since the mid 90s. I don't even blame the Backstreet Boys or their producer. I blame all the poor saps that sink their filthy teeth into this poor excuse for monotony.

Definitely. The whole boy band thing has been going on for a long time. But I don't just mean boy bands. Although it was the late 90s that beat it to death. Of course, I might just be saying that because I first really started paying attention to music in the mid 90s.DDramone wrote:i think its been goin on longer then the 90's. i always figured the whole boy band thing started with the beatles.
However, the fact is that I can't tell the difference between the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync, but I can tell the difference between The Beatles and The Beach Boys or The Monkees, and I can only barely tell the difference between Boyz 2 Men and All 4 One (or however they spelled their name). It seems like pop culture in general has degenerated to the point where each branch off the tree is exactly the same. But it still makes money! And that's what sickens me. The presence of pop music alone isn't so bad, but when "different" bands are indistinguishable, it starts to get disturbing.

Agreed, especially with the recent development of these punk-boy bands. Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, and the like.Flint the Dwarf wrote:However, the fact is that I can't tell the difference between the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync, but I can tell the difference between The Beatles and The Beach Boys or The Monkees, and I can only barely tell the difference between Boyz 2 Men and All 4 One (or however they spelled their name). They will fail, just like the spice girls failed when they tried to make a comeback.

.....OK.......don't call me gay, cause I'm not "had to reasure that since some people took it seriously, and some people....scared me".
I can no doubt tell the difference between Backstreet Boy's and N-sync's songs in the first 10 seconds in. The B Boys have a more R&B feel towards thier beats while N-sync is just weird, but I like their music too.
I just really hate when people call them gay. How the hell are they gay when their singing about girls? The people calling them gay need to check their damn private parts because I think they're confused to why the Backstreet Boys can actually be "sexually" appealling to men.
Think about that!! WTF!! Let's just say I'll have an upper hand on getting girls that some of you denied by immediately stating them as "gay"
Oh!!....."time to act like a little kid"...How do you know their gay? I bet you screwed all 5 of them 10 times and weren't satisfied! "get's ready for more unexpected comments..."

I'm not even one of the people who thinks the Backstreet Boys are literally gay, but your argument that they can't be gay because they sing about girls is stupid. Do you honestly think any closet homosexuals in the music industry would sing about being homosexual? Just look at George Michael. In "I Want Your Sex," he sings "Talk to your sister / I am a lover." Just think about it. Then you've got Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls," and Freddie Mercury sure as hell wasn't the straightest guy in the industry. Somehow, someway, even Rob Halford of Judas Priest managed to keep his sexuality a secret until 1998 (well, it didn't surprise anyone, but it wasn't official until then).
Also, you're gay.
Also, you're gay.

I see a lot of people biased here by their own personal music tastes.
I'm not really into BSB, but I can say one thing. Unlike other boy bands, they can actually sing. They actually have talent behind their sound, whether you think it's regurgitated or not, I don't care.
They aren't one-hit wonders who fade off when the next 'good-looking' troupe of boys come knockin
/two cents

Rock your body
Everybody
Rock your body right,
Backstreet's back alright.
Now throw your hands up in the air
And wave 'em around like you just don't care
If you wanna party let me hear you yell
Cuz we've got it going on again
I think N'Sync says it best with
Sick and tired of hearin’ all these people talk about
What’s the deal with this pop life
And when is it gonna fade out
The thing you got to realize
Is what we’re doing is not a trend
We got the gift of melody
We gonna bring it ’til the end
C’mon now
