I'm not talkin' about Run DMC, LL Cool J, etc. I'm talkin' about REEEEEEEALLY old stuff, like Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, The Funky Four Plus One, Kurtis Blow, Afrika Bambaataa, stuff like that. Some great tracks from this brand of rap are:
"The Message" and "White Lines (Don't Don't Do It)" by Grandmaster Flash
"8th Wonder" by Sugarhill Gang
"That's The Joint" by Funky Four Plus One
"Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaataa
"Hip Hop Be Bop (Don't Stop)" by Man Parrish
"Clear" by Cybotron
"More Bounce To The Ounce" by Zapp & Roger
"Bassline" by Mantronix

RamonesFan, how old are you? Because at 25, I'm pretty much at the upper median age group for this message board, and the oldest hip hop I know is DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (before Will Smith got his name back and got top billing, even) and the Beastie Boys (who are still in the game).
Life's short.
