Yes, a main reason for the preference of locking to deletion (which, around here, is synonymous with "moving out of sight of non-mod/admins") is the deterrent factor. At least from what I've gathered from previous discussion about it.
I'm at least glad my thread inspired a little bit of discussion and whatnot.
Most noobs or just members in general don't take the time to read announcements or "stickies".
Sadly in most cases this deterrence factor is pointless.
Also, indeed Bebi, nice little discussion we're having here...
Even if there are some posts missing.
They'll delete your post...its a conspiracy.
Also Bebi, don't give them ideas.![]()

I should probably post on this, so I am.
The posts were removed because they were offtopic/spamish (things about pies and voodo). Well, most of them at least. For some reason, it looks like there were one or two that got caught that weren't spam or off-topic. This was an accident, and for this, I'm sorry and I apologize (I would have posted myself to get their text back in, but I didn't realize it until I looked through the moved posts after checking back in on this today). We generally don't leave messages for removing spam and such (well me personally, I can't say for everyone else) is because I want the conversation to get back on track, and posting a note saying that posts were moved isn't helping that (that and the fact that many people don't mind when spam has been removed).
As for the people that post about downloading music, it's their decision to read the rules or not. And many do. The ones that don't however, are the only ones that we actually get to see.
And Bebi, I can definitely say that we do not go through people's PM boxes. For one, we can't. And even if we could, I wouldn't want to. People are entitled to their privacy.
Meh anyway, back on-topic - The whole idea of my ....uh..... idea....was to try and weed out the people who aren't reading the rules or otherwise paying attention to the way things are going on in here. I dunno. It was just an idea, anyway.
All these topics asking for downloaded music...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
