Imaginary Day - Pat Metheny

I did a search for Pat Metheny on the forum and I came up with nothing. So, I'd thought I should share my thoughts on my favorite album by the Pat Metheny Group and what I consider some of my absolute favorite music. Personally, I don't have more than 2 albums by him (and other great musicians). However, the album entitled "Imaginary Day" stands out to me as some of the greatest music ever created. It is a combination of jazz, techno, rock, and many more musical styles. It has no vocals, it is all instrumental. I was first introduced to this album by my father. I instantly fell in love with the music. I could keep ranting about this forever, but that would get boring. So you can get a better idea of what kind of music this is, I'll place some links to get more information and music samples.

On the "Imaginary Day" album, Roots of Coincidence is easily my favorite. It covers a wide variety of styles and pulls it off seamlessly. It starts out hard techno and rock with a jazz style and begins to hint to a calmer, but just as powerful section. A little pass the middle of the song, the style and pace swtiches to a more intrumental, open, and mysterious feeling. This song and the rest of the album is just so powerful to me. The whole album flows and seems to tell a story, but the story is up to you to decide. Maybe I'm just crazy, but there is no other music that I get this excited about.
