new music generation type

Post by tutterbutter » Tue May 27, 2003 12:27 pm

Its a bit extreme at times, I turn on the rock station here, and yes there is only so much Linkin Park, Disturbed, Creed, and types of those you can take, if thats not nesc your type of music. But, think of it this way, I try too. hehe Theres a different generation, and we are all different people.. say the new demographic 18-24 love that stuff and proves to be a great outlet for them.. I dont knock it. Its truley Anger Management For Some. Right now aside from The White Stripes.. who are a great band and do it right, Straight ROCKnROLL.. no cheap thrills..I cant get into alot of the music now. Ill Hum along, Sing the tune, know the song, heck they are catchy, and with the airplay at times you cant avoid it. Im 26, and when I grew up in Middle School And High School.. Hair Bands were there but that whole seattle sound, Nirvana, Pearl Jam was coming in... Every Generation has that whole Angry Guys and Gals Rocking out. About 6th Grade it all changed for me, I was listening to a college station and heard the glorious sound Peter Murphy.. and Dead Can Dance.. After hearing that.. I couldnt bear and turn my back on it.. And Progressed from there. If you dont LOOK for good music, or expand your horizons, you wont find it.. I believe Reel Big Fish Said "That Radio plays what they want you to hear, the record companies gonna give me lots of money and everythings gonna be alright" I think this statement holds true to alot of new musical artists out there, Babes, Boobs, Booze, Drugs and Money.. these guys arent dumb.. They play what sells.. And you know that one song on a cd you either love or really hate, that doesnt get air play.. thats thier real passion, thier real love.. the real hardcore talent of thier musical ability. All these bands love music and making it, or they wouldnt have gotten where they are, unfortunently record companies put alot of pressure on them to sound this way, say this, and look this so you sell records... Its a sad sad freaking world. But Money Makes the world go round, Some Guy Right now is sitting in his house Bashing his head to get down wit da sickness and not being aggressive in another outlet hehe.. So Bless them All.. And btw, Living in Orlando, The BackStreet Boys, Nsync and O-town and several other bands of the such are thrown in the hardcore here.. So I will deal with the Linkin Parks, Disturbed, Any day over that crazy boy band stuff.. If you dont like it, Turn it off, And if you like it, let people know!
Im done ranting now.

Dancey indie stuff will make a dent in the radio pretty soon. Every magazine in the country has been losing their shit over the rapture, radio 4, these arms are snakes, mars volta etc. All of these bands in their own right, even though they aren't all that alike totally deserve anything that comes there way, and I think will probably get relativly big. Hopefully that'll open up the doors for other things that are a lot less accesible, but still really dancey and fun like Liars.

It won't be huge like nu-metal, or this whiny nu-emo, bro punk whatever is out right now, but it'll make some waves like the white stripes and the strokes did a year or 2 ago.

God I hate the freaking strokes.

I pity thee, Americans, For thy hath not the power of the Sons Of NORTHERN DARKNESS! Come to Europe, to Norway and Sweden to visit the best metalbands around. True heroes are born here! With the way things are looking for bands like Immortal, The Kovenant, Pagan's Mind, Einherjer, Darkthrone and of course Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon! norwegian quality metal is expanding it's horizons with demonic speed! The everyday man seems to have noticed the geniousity of this music too, because norwegian metal magazine Scream, is currently the best selling music magazine in Norway! These are good times to come :D. I advice everybody here to download an .mp3 of everyone of these bands and listen, or prefered: buy an album and suport great music!

/End bragging/promotion/whatever..

The last metal record I bought was the new one by the haunted. Ain't from Norway, but it's still pretty killer.
