What if you want just the vocals? (this is sorta a joke, but is something that I also would love to know as I'd have a use for it)

My english is very bad , my friend , but read here an answer from other forum :

"... once the vocals are removed, you could do subtraction of one wave from the other (original-instrumental) to get just the vocals.If anyone does not know how to do a wave subtraction, you need to invert one of the files, then add (mix) them together.
