Dude, who wrote, played, and recorded the music on the cds you like?
METALICA

If METALICA played a live show, would they still be able to play their new stuff?
YES

They're still the same band that did all the things you like.

In short, you like them.

If you want to explain what you do or don't like about them, that's fine and all, but that's a why question. If some one asks you a straight up yes or no question of "Do you like Metalica?" The answer is yes, no excuses required.

Don't feel you have to defend your taste in music until it's been insulted. and when it gets insulted, don't just follow the crowd either. I mean if your opinion is the same as thr crowd's it's fine, but you can foten tell when some one is just going along. You have no idea how often I hear the classic "I like Dude ranch, but EVERYTHING else Blink has EVER done sucks" <-- There's a crowd follower for you.

Don't feel you have to say extra stuff when approached with such an easy question.

i listen for lyrics plain and simple....the lyrical quality in metallica has dropped...

you should say i LIKED metallica

This argument is flawed. The Backstreet Boys have millions of fans. That doesn't make them a good band. If the latest trends in music have taught us anything, it's that fans + record sales != musical talent.

From what I can tell, listening to the backstreet Boys I'd say they're pretty talented. They sing well, they can dance, they have a good show for their fans, and I believe they take part in their music and videos, when they're being created.

I'd say they have talent.

However, if you want to go down the brittney spears path, her voice is completley redone by the computer, she doesn't write her music or lyrics, she barley has lyrics as they try to cover her voice up with the rest of the music, which she has no part in. Just the whole thing is a joke, Brittney Spears has no talent.

Now, when comparing Metalica to Spears. They didn't re-create the singers voice back in Metalica's day in the computer, and Metalica wrote their own stuff. So, Metalica earned their fans, through skill. Brittney Spears has handed her career, and does nothing for it, because she has no talent.

That I agree with. I'm just saying, don't just say they have millions of fans and use that as an argument. Having millions of fans doesn't matter, what matters is whether you earned them or not.

And I disagree with the backstreet boys having talent. They don't play instruments, they don't write songs. All they do is sing and dance, just like Britney. They aren't musically talented.

well voice is a form of talent, and they're good at it. And even tho they don't write their music, they over see it, and they're there.

Even tho they're not musicly talented like we like, or care about, I myself would still have to say they're talented.

When comparing them to brittney, atleast they can sing

I agree that she sucks... but she actually does have a voice. Or did, at least. I guess it could've gotten worse. But you're right about everything else, so she does suck.
