Aeris/Aerith theme re-done, FF fans should read

Post by burntoast » Fri Mar 14, 2003 7:55 pm

there must be a large amount of Final Fantasy 7 fans here at the .org, and i'll get to the point. FFX has two (i dunno if there are more) songs deprived from FF7, using Aeris' theme as a base for actual lyrics. i know that some ppl already know this, but in case u dunno already & ur interested, the names of the songs are "Pure Heart" and "Sutekidane" (a.k.a. Isn't it Beautiful).

i don't have a PS2, nor FFX, but i discovered that these songs sound a lot like the one from FF7. if u find/found urself listening to Aeris' theme a bunch of the time, but lost interest in it, this can get u back into the mood. :)

Pure Heart is very soothing, and it sounds like an irish/celtic ballad. i get a feeling of nostalgia after i listen to it...*sigh*... makes me reminisce the good ol' days. :P ffonline.com supposedly held a poll to see which song the online fans wanted to be re-done. of course, they chose the theme to Aeris, which turned into Pure Heart.

Sutekidane (Isn't it Beautiful) won't sound very familiar at first, but as i listen to it around 2:07, Aeris' theme pops into my head. it's a great song also.

a review of the album sung by RIKKI is available here, at Animetric.com. "Sutekida" the album has Pure Heart in it (pun intended) and two versions of Sutekidane (one w/ vocals, one instrumental).

to sum it up, if u like Aeris' theme from FF7, but u haven't listened to these songs in FFX (or if u never played FFX), u might be interested in this album.

Yet another reason for me to get off my lazy, broke ass and get a PS2.

Yeah...I noticed that too. I really enjoyed them because I now play piano, and actually, the FF Series' musical scores are what inspired me to begin to play. And Aries theme was one of the first ones I learned.

Maybe you haven't heard this yet, because you don't have FFX, but one of the songs in the begnning, has a melody used from the FF7 theme. Its just an arrpegio (I think that is how you spell it) rolling up the scales. Basically, it uses the riff from the opening to FF7 (title screne) only faster, and in a different key, and in a different chord. For those of you who know music stuff, it just play one chord in with an +9 going up and down in a couple of octaves...

Ok...enough of that...I also really like the soundtrack from FFX, and I plan to get the sheet music when I get enough money :x

And I was actually thinking about making my own FF7 dedication track, it would start out with the FF7 World Map theme, and then halfway, I discovred it flows right into Aeris theme, and then back to the FF7 theme. For those who know music and are interested, after you repeat yhe theme once, and go back into the chorus, end with the "B sus7" to "B" and hold that. Then go into the same riff except using an "A" chord. And then, when you get to the 7th and 6th of the "A" chord, switch over to a "Bm." And that moves right into Aeirs theme...with the "D+9" and what not...

Sorry, that was weird...and its hard to exlain music over a keyboard. But anyways...I suggest getting a PS2, prices are down!! :D
