Something which I recently realised and I feel is quite important in the grand scheme of internet things, is that this website - animemusicvideos.org is acting as an archive for not only AMVs but also music itself.
I was going through my audio library the other day, and I came across a bunch of anime OST songs that I acquired a long time ago from a fan website (which no longer exists). I remember there being a bunch of AMVs back in the day on YouTube to these songs so for nostalgia's sake I thought I'd look up and see what I could still find - well, it turned out to be not a whole lot. There were at least 3 songs from this OST which are completely wiped off of YouTube, not just AMVs, you can't find the songs themselves at all. There are covers and remixes of the songs, but the original versions? Utterly non existent. I had a quick check and tried uploading them myself, and they have a pretty impressive block on them by the Japanese media company which owns them. It's very sad. I also cannot find these songs anywhere else on the internet - you'd need to buy a physical CD from Japan in order to hear to a copy (and good luck doing that with something out of print), these are also songs that aren't actually present in the anime itself, but are considered part of the OST so you can't even watch the anime and hear them.
I thought this was a rather dark day for media preservation until I had the idea to check here - there had been AMVs using these songs after all so perhaps some people archived them? And yes, yes they are here, all 3 of these completely unavailable anywhere else on the internet pieces of music are archived on this website multiple times.
It's made me wonder what other either slightly obscure songs or copyright locked down music is floating around this website unknown but thankfully preserved. It's actually a kinda wild thought and it has increased my appreciation for this site tenfold.

In my opinión that's the purpose of the org. As long as it works as a 'hub' for every single editor out there.

Re: A slightly surprising additional benefit of animemusicvideos.org
Years ago I found someone on Reddit who was desperately searching for this song, which was apparently released on something too obscure even for discogs.com. I pointed them in the direction of this AMV and they gave me Reddit Gold for a month, which I did absolutely nothing with but still appreciated.
The song has since been posted to YouTube... by the person who I showed this AMV to? I don't know. Maybe?
