I am beginning to think that we will never hear back from Gene and is hoping that everything is alright or if he's just super busy....

IIRC, there have a been a number of issues with trophies over the years from AMA. I think I waited over a year for one once.

Trophies are being shipped today. Had to work out a deal with the UPS store so I can be on a payment plan with them. I have everything ready to go. Next year I'll have another one of my staffer ship out the prizes. It seems like every year I try to get something on track, something decides to say screw you basically. (I have personal issues right now with getting a job and bills stacking up).

It's official for next year. I, the assistant DH, will be taking over shipping of awards on Gene's request. 
This means that the winners of next year's contest should have their trophies, plaques, whatever in their hands within a month after AMA ends (although I'm gonna shoot for something closer to 2-3 weeks). That is unless something happens with the con budget for our department which is unlikely. Furthermore, I promise you will receive expedient, if not immediate, response from me concerning this matter if you have any questions.
Of course, we prefer you be present to accept your award as your winning video plays during the ceremonies.
