NY Anime Fest 2009 Call For Entries
Now that most of July is behind us, it's time for us to start accepting AMV submissions for this year's NY Anime Festival!
The festival will be held once again at the Jacob Javitz Center in New York City, on September 25-27.
We are accepting entries this year by file direct download sites (such as SendSpace, MegaUpload, and personal file servers) ONLY. No YouTube (or similar), and no physical entries will be accepted.
Official rules and entry form can be found here:
http://www.newyorkanimefestival.com/en/ ... V-Contest/
ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY 11:59 pm EASTERN TIME ON AUGUST 31.
Prizes will be given out for the following categories (subject to change after finalists are determined):
- Best action AMV
- Best comedy AMV
- Best drama AMV
- Best motion graphics/SFX AMV
- Judge's prize
- People's choice
Judging will be done by audience ballot. Note that last year we had to shuffle things around because we got an inordinate number of drama/romance videos, and had to figure out how to even things out. So expect those categories to change a bit, because I'm guessing similar things will happen this year too.
Any questions can be posted here or e-mailed to me at nyafamv@gmail.com. Good luck!

This thread seems lonely so I shall post here.
I'm gonna whip something up I suppose, something mech-tacular. I hope you're better prepared for the crowd this year.

Yeaaaahhh, that was embarassing.gotenks794 wrote:I'm gonna whip something up I suppose, something mech-tacular. I hope you're better prepared for the crowd this year.
Edit: I just learned we're getting the big auditorium (~1000 people) for the AMVs, with a spillover performance in a room that seats 400. So we should be good to go this year.

Does there have to be any blank space before and/or after the video? I didn't see that it said so in the rules (might've missed it) but I thought I'd ask just to be sure...
