Sorry for the delay in letting you guys know whats up. This years rules are done and submitted for final review by the powers that be. As soon as I get the final A-OK they will be posted on the site and to here as well as the list.
There are some changes you will need to be aware. The biggest (or at least most important) is that the submission address has changed. I moved to Ventura so I got the P.O. Box accordingly.
The other two major changes are, we are no longer accepting tape submissions. Last year of the several hundred entries only 1 came in on tape. I think its pretty safe to say Tape is kaput.
The last major alteration (and the one I expect the biggest furor about) is that we are not putting up an FTP submission server this year. If you wish to submit online you will need to do it via something like YouSendIt or Megaupload or similar service. Many of you did that last year and it worked great. Unfortunately, us putting up an FTP server was a dismal failure. While I give props to SPJAs IT peeps for putting the effort into it, in the end it was just way more hassle and caused way more problems than it solved. There are a couple of entrants last year who know exactly what I mean. So, to prevent that kind of headache and to try and make things easier on you all, we killed it. I don't know if we will ever try it again in the future but it will be a year or two before we consider it again. Besides, services like YouSendIt, Rapidshare, Megaupload work really really well.
Other than that the rules and regs are pretty much the same. There are some very minor changes to the actual submission form. We added a "How you wish your name listed" field (I think Anneke actually called it something else.) otherwise... not alot of change.
SO, if you haven't started your amv yet, now is the time.
OH, I almost forgot.
We have spoken with the heads of Programming and have gotten them to agree to a rescreening of the amvs after the initial contest in one of the big video rooms. It is at said screening that we will announce winners and hand out prizing. Last year the whole announcements thing was kind of a kludge. Sorry about that. BUT we were certain to make sure every thing got mailed out. And given the lack of screams and death threats, I am presuming it worked.

I also want to take this opportunity to, on behalf of Anneke as well as myself, thank you guys for being supportive and understanding when we hit wrinkles and worked to resolve them. You guys have all been phenomenal.
As soon as I get the final OK from the head of Programming, We will submit the rules to the site master for posting on the AX site as well as post them here and on the AMV List.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing your entries!
Sincerely,
Michael G. Underwood
