Otafest 2009 - AMV Contest!
Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen!
I'm the Special Events Coordinator for Otafest, the annual con held in Calgary, AB, Canada. Otafest 2009 will be held on May 15-17, 2009 at the University of Calgary!
This year marks Otafest's 11th year and will be our 6th contest! Last year, we broke the 4000 attendee mark thanks in part to one helluva AMV contest, and we are looking to best that again this year! Currently, we are looking for any AMVs made after May 2008.

Please read the rules before entering the contest!
Entry into the contest is very simple! Please send an email to: Jenny Chan: special-events@otafest.com
Please provide the following information in the email:
1) Your name or your studio’s name
2) The AMV’s information
a. The name of your video(s)
b. The name of the series from which you are drawing your visual material
c. The name of the song you are using, as well as the original artist
3) Please state whether or not your entry has been submitted to other contest
4) A link to where your video can be downloaded. If you plan on mailing in your copy, a mailing address will then be provided to you in the reply email.
5) Please state whether you plan to attend Otafest.
6) Please state that you are the original creator of this AMV.
Entry deadline is April 24th. Please have your email sent by April 24th.
Once again, Otafest is very proud to announce that Vlad's will be assisting in the showing of our contest (THANK YOU VLAD!!) and all entries will be re-encoded to mpeg2 and played off of Vlad's equipment for superior playback!
As such, mpeg2 is the preferred format, although all entries will be reencoded to this format!

Fabulous! I look forward to seeing how everyone tops their entries from last year! Dunno if that'll be possible, *laugh*, 'cause last year's entries were good!
