- This competition is open to both international and national entrants.
- All entries should be submitted by the 23rd of January 2009. no entries past this date will be accepted. (postal entries must be postdated prior to the 22nd)
- there is a maximum of 3 videos per creator (multi editor projects count towards a creators entry tally)
- all participants in the creation of the video must be included on the entry form
- Videos should not contain overly graphic scenes (violence, sex etc..)
- The committee and competition organisers reserve the right to deny any video entry at any time, for any reason
- Footage used within the video must be resricted to anime and/or game footage. Videos with a higher proportion of game footage will be judged in a seperate category.
- Video length should be under 8 minutes. longer entries may be edited or dropped from the competition without notice.
- Any videos entered into previous Wai-con events will not be accepted.
- The videos are not to contain any credits, special cuts will be made for each video being screened.
- The judges decisions are final, no disscusion over the decision will therfore be entered into by the judges.
All entries must be in a digital format, either submitted online or on either a cd or DVD. any discs supplied will not be returned after the event, so please don't send your only copy.
All submitted entries must be in either, AVI, MPG, MP4, WMV, MKV or OGM containers only only, these included the following codec types:
- DivX, Xvid, DV-AVI,HuffYUV,FFDshow
- MPEG1, MPEG2
- H.264
- WMV (Windows Media Video)
Audio can be either PCM (Uncompressed), Mpeg2 layer 2/3 format or LAME MP3.
Please submit your video in the highest quality possible, as this will be included in the final judging process. typically this is is at least 640X480 and larger for 4:3 format and 640x360 or larger for 16:9 format.

Best new local talent - this category is for people in Western Australia who have never entered before.
Miscelaneous - For the random videos that just don't seem to fit into anything above
Forms will be handed out as people enter the room for the audience favorite category, these will be collected after the screening and tallied to decide the final winner.
Due to possible time constraints, not every video may end up being screened. unfortunatly there will be no way to avoid this. however every video submitted, and deemed sutiable, will be judged. any videos screened will be a random selection of all suitiable entries.
This years competition is open to entries that be considered M rated. however, please use discresion when submitting your entry to the competition as entries that are still overly graphic will be cut from the competition.
